What does our dental insurance policy cover?

General dentistry

Cosmetic dentistry
Cosmetic dentistry is a branch of the profession that focuses on improving the appearance of the mouth, gums, smile and teeth. It is less focused on oral hygiene and diseases.
Orthodontics
Consists of using certain types of braces - removable or fixed - to improve the appearance of adult teeth.
Periodontics
Periodontics is a branch of dentistry focusing on the structures that surround and support the teeth.
Endodontics
Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that treats the dental pulp tissue and the tissues surrounding the roots of the tooth below the gum line.
Implantology

Sinus lifts
Sinus lift surgery is done to increase the amount of bone in the upper jaw to facilitate the placing of dental implants. The upper jaw is known as the posterior maxilla hence the name maxillary sinus floor augmentation.
Oral and maxillofacial surgery
Oral and maxillofacial surgery specialises in treating many diseases, injuries and defects in the head, neck, face, jaws and the hard and soft tissues of the oral and maxillofacial region.
Intra/extra oral bone grafts
The oral surgeon typically harvests the bone from the jaw, hard palate, or chin (intra-oral). If there is insufficient bone in these places, they may take the bone graft from the hip, or shinbone (extra-oral).
Minor oral surgery (tooth extraction)
Minor Oral Surgery is that branch of dentistry that deals with extractions. These include extractions including impacted wisdom teeth, retained roots and multiple teeth.
